Organizational Information

.
WMSA is not a shooting club nor a hunting organization. We intend to inform and serve any law-abiding citizen concerned about exercising his or her 2nd Amendment freedom. The erroneous term "sporting use" is not found in the 2nd Amendment, therefore it is not considered to be valid when discussing the "Right to Keep and Bear Arms." We do not consider the 2nd Amendment a "privilege," but an inalienable right that citizens can exercise at their  will, not at the will of the government.
As our name implies, WMSA can ally with any individual or group that holds the same principles, ideas, and desires as ours concerning the 2nd Amendment. This allows us to work with a variety people without having ties to any particular political party. We will help only those politicians that hold our views as their own. WMSA will also inform the public of any politician that seeks to override or ignore our Constitution. We judge elected officials and bureaucrats not according to sex, race, color, creed, or religion but only according to their position on the 2nd Amendment.
Article III of the WMSA bylaws state:
The purpose and objectives of the Western Missouri Shooters Alliance are dedicated to the restoration of the inalienable rights to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment by;
A. Monitoring and acting on pending legislation at the local, state, and federal level;
B. Encouraging voter registration and participation in the political process, and;
C. Promoting public safety, law and order, and the defense of the nation.
Article III - Point A While the WMSA sphere of action is mainly Missouri, we do have members in other states. It is our intention to eventually help our out-of-state members form alliances similar to the one in Missouri. Until that time, we will do what we can to keep them informed along with our in-state members.
WMSA collects information from many different sources; from Washington, D.C. to Jefferson City. This information is then assimilated and put into our monthly newsletter. Our members are also notified by mail-out flyers or phone calls if the need arises.
WMSA takes action in the form of public protests, debates, and meetings with governmental representatives. We also take out advertisements in local newspapers that inform the public what their elected officials are doing concerning gun control. In the future, it is our intention to help write bills to eradicate legislation that discriminates against lawful gun owners.
Article III - Point B While politicians are afraid of many things, the situation that most frightens them is the erosion of their support at the voter level. This is of course the best leverage to use against a crook in office. WMSA seeks to have membership that is comprised of 100% registered voters. As our membership grows, more politicians will be forced to deal with us or face losing their political support. WMSA must be a "grass roots" organization if we are to make a difference in election results. While members are not required to be registered voters, it is clear that in order to be taken seriously, we will require a majority of such members.
Article III - Point C It is the belief of WMSA that the public is safest from crime when the intended victim is armed. This is especially true when the criminal is government. The attempt to disarm the law-abiding citizen is an act of treason and should be considered as such. No man or woman should have to be a victim because of government's intentions to save us from ourselves. Nor should we be prey to the criminal element that is not prosecuted or is set free by the judicial system. Every law-abiding citizen should be able to defend themselves, their loved ones, and their property without the threat of prosecution from the government.
WMSA supports law enforcement and law enforcement officials. We want to see that our police have the best training and equipment possible to do their jobs. It is our intention to work with the police in any way possible, short of disarming the public. We understand that the police have an obligation to protect society as a whole and not individuals. It is therefore our position that citizens are responsible for their own welfare regarding personal protection. This includes helping police departments by submitting to their authority and being supportive of their actions.
History shows us that an armed populace is a deterrent to invasion by foreign powers, and government tyranny. WMSA intends to heed this lesson by promoting the 2nd Amendment and the shooting arts. We stand firm on the premise that any law-abiding citizen has the right to be armed, and has the right to use arms for legitimate purposes. The individual also has the obligation to accept responsibility for their actions. The people who exercise the most freedom are the people who must be the most responsible.
