In Memory of  Dean Johnson

Thank you for a life of honor, dignity, and duty to country.

Don K. on behalf of my entire family

Thank you for how you  tried to build up everyone in the WMSA. How you offered encouragement, guidance, and the thoughtful ways you showed people you were thinking of them. You really cared about people and it showed. You saw jobs that needed doing and you did them. You saw spots that needed to be filled and you filled them.  You were always smiling and you made those around you want to smile too. You will be missed, very much.

Just a couple of thoughts about Dean:

Dean placed a great deal of value on his many friends.  His closest friend was, without a doubt, his wife Sharon.  They went everywhere together.  He was kind and generous to the extent that he would give you anything he owned if he felt that you needed it more than he did.  He was a man of conviction.  There was never any question about how Dean felt about any subject and his position was unwavering.  He said what he meant and he meant what he said.  He was proud of his service to our country in the US Navy, but he was especially proud of his son Perry, and his accomplishments.  Dean was an avid student of American history who was active in the Civil War Re-enactors. He deeply believed in the Constitution of The United States and was dedicated to its preservation – especially Amendment 2 of the Bill of Rights.  Dean was never without a story.  Those of us who knew him well heard them over and over again.  He made his own special hot sauce that would light the fire of the most accomplished connoisseur of spice, but he also had a sweet tooth with affection for making his own horehound candy!  Edward Dean Johnson may have been a man of modest physical stature, but everyone who knew him looked up to him as someone that they would aspire to be.  He will be missed.

I first met Dean through the WMSA, as a new member he made you feel welcome. His attitude about gun rights and the second amendment never wavered, he was always ready to help and I always looked forward to seeing him at the gunshows. Dean is a man who will be remembered and greatly missed by all.

A very nice man and he will be missed !
Working in the garage folding news letters was always a special time of sharing.
His focus on what was right was an inspiration to all of us!

Sincerely; "Skip" Moore --- also a Navy Vet and Legionnaire

Dean was the backbone of our grassroots efforts for as long as I can remember. He combined hard work with unfailing good humor. I loved the guy. Many will step up to take his place, but no one will replace him.

I never met Dean but his memory lives on in the thoughts, wishes and notes from all the people he touched.
Best wishes to his surviving family and friends.
