Tucson attorney in line to become NRA President
Sep. 21, 2004
She believes self defense is the most fundamental civil right
Available for interview at Self Defense Banquet
6 p.m., Oct. 2, 2004.
Tucson lawyer Sandra Froman will speak at the Self Defense Banquet in Phoenix on Sat., Oct. 2. As the NRA's current First Vice-President, she is in line to become the next president of the organization, sometimes called the most powerful lobby in the nation. NRA elections will be held next year.
Ms. Froman will be addressing this banquet, along with a host of other civil rights leaders, on the tenth anniversary of Arizona's successful law that allows residents to discreetly carry a concealed weapon (CCW). Contrary to fear-mongering reports when the CCW law was enacted, the tactful arming of tens of thousands of Arizonans did not cause wild west shootouts, and has saved lives and stopped crimes. Permit holders are among the lowest crime demographic groups in the state.
Banquet details are posted at http://www.gunlaws.com/newstuff.htm. The Human Right of Self Defense Award will be bestowed for the first time, to several recipients.
