| "No Guns" Signs Impotent and Dangerous |
|

| Two United Dairy Farmers (UDF) locations have recently fallen victim
to armed crime. This is in spite of the fact that both stores are
allegedly posted as “No Gun” zones due to UDF’s corporate decision to
disarm its customers and enable violent robbers by ensuring that all
victims have been rendered helpless for their convenience. On September 5, a masked gunman entered a UDF location on U.S. Route 50 in Miami Township of Clermont county. The perpetrator brandished a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. After getting an undetermined amount of cash, he fled on foot. It has also been reported that on September 10, a UDF on Noe-Bixby Road in Columbus was held up by two gunmen. This attack resulted in one employee being beaten by the robber's pistol. United Dairy Farmers has long held a “No Guns” policy within their stores which lead to a Criminal Protection Zone. Frequent attempts to enlighten the organization’s administrator’s results in a dismissive form letter that includes, “…United Dairy Farmers senior level management decided to place these signs in all our stores for primarily one reason - the safety of our employees and our customers. We feel the fewer weapons in our stores the less of a chance of a discharge (whether accidental or intentional)…”Obviously, those that reign over the operations of UDF do not concern themselves with the everyday safety of potential customers that have been trained in the legal and moral aspects of carrying a handgun for self defense… let alone the safety of their own employees. If you would like to contact United Dairy Farmers and respectfully disagree with their policy given these recent events (in addition to historical violent occurrences), you may do so by emailing Customer Relationsor contacting their corporate office at: 3955 Montgomery Road Cincinnati, OH 45212 |
