| Police chiefs and officers from Trident have joined forces to tackle
gun crime in Lambeth's black community with a hard hitting advertising
campaign. The Trident advertising campaign Blood on Your Hands was launched at The Ritzy in Brixton on Monday and will be shown in 103 cinemas in London's six Trident boroughs. The gritty ad campaign aims to hit home with people who may be involved with gun crime indirectly, urging people who know the whereabouts of gun criminals to come forward. It relays the simple message "if you know someone has got a gun but don't report it you could have blood on your hands." Detective Chief Superintendent John Coles who heads Trident said: "We hope it will have a considerable impact will all the communities in London. "We know many people have knowledge or access to guns if you know about this but choose to ignore it and one of your family is killed then you have blood on your hands with the person who shot them. It's important that people with information call Crimestoppers." The advert depicts youths leaving bloodied finger prints on everything they come into contact with and was created by successful film director Tom Candy. Jazzy B from Soul to Soul fame lends his voice to narrate the graphic message. The campaign is also supported by a radio advert featuring Lee Mullings who's dad was shot in the head in May 2004 and will be pumped out on the air waves across London. Lee Jasper chairman of Trident's Independent Advisory Group said: "It's shocking and provocative and designed to confront a community who live in fear."
