A WEALTHY car dealer may have died of fright after being pistol-whipped by masked robbers. Kevin Robinson, 43, was hit on the head several times by three men who burst into his £450,000 home on Thursday night. The robbers, one with a machete and another with a handgun, demanded money. Mr Robinson, who lived alone and ran his business from home near Stockport, Greater Manchester, ran out of the front door. He raised the alarm and the gang fled empty-handed. But five days later he collapsed in front of the TV with a heart attack and died later in hospital. Neighbour Simon Walker, 37, said after the attack: "I went downstairs to find Kevin on our doorstep pleading to be let in. "He had cuts and bruises on his head and blood on his face. He was absolutely terrified." He added: "He was a gentle giant, a lovely guy." Simon's wife Sue found him dying on the sofa days later. Police are still hunting the gang. |
