North Kansas City police continue to investigate gun shop burglary
Aug. 21, 2007
North Kansas City police is hoping to use nearby video surveillance cameras to identify who broke into a gun shop and stole several firearms.

The robbery at Denny’s Guns in the 2000 block of Clay Street was reported just after midnight. Thieves burst through a garage door in the rear of the business. Once inside, they made off with an unknown number of weapons. Witnesses said they saw a silver pickup in the area about the time of the break-in. Investigators discovered the vehicle’s passenger side mirror at the scene.

Police said they hope to secure surveillance video from surrounding businesses to gather additional information. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting with the investigation, said Maj. Dave Huskisson.

The shop’s employees were still taking inventory to determine what was taken. They declined to comment about the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
