Home invasions investigated

Lawrence police are looking for leads in two separate incidents in which robbers attacked people at their homes during the past few days.

One involved assailants who followed a man home today. The other involved a weekend home invasion at the residence of four women in their 20s.

Police have no evidence that the crimes are linked.

The most recent incident was at 3 a.m. today. A 28-year-old man reported that two men and a woman followed him from a local club. The victim said the men beat him in front of his residence in the 3900 block of Harvard Road and took his wallet.

The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.

Investigators found that the man’s credit card had been used a several businesses.

Following leads, police later arrested a 24-year-old man in the 100 block of Maple Lane on aggravated robbery charges. They are looking for a 22-year-old female and a 30-year-old man identified as having used the victim’s credit card.

The other incident happened about 3 a.m. Sunday when a man with a handgun entered a residence in the 1000 block of Missouri, north of the University of Kansas campus. He woke one of roommates and took her to wake the other women. He then demanded their wallets and purses. The women told the men the items he wanted were in another room. When he entered that room, the women locked themselves in another and called police.
