Al Brooks speaks out: 'Leawood Dead Pool'Does anyone else see the irony in this one?? Perhaps Al is so upset because he is feeling guilty that his actions in trying to block concealed carry would contribute to a rise in the statistics? Given his statement which I have emphasized in bold, how does he justify his actions in trying to block concealed carry? If it is just more hypocrisy, did he say it with a straight face? The Employees involved are guilty of poor taste, whereas Al is guilty of actions that would have lead to a rise in the stats. | It's hard to make Al Brooks angry, but the "Leawood Dead Pool" has
succeeded. That's the group of Leawood public works employees who made
an office pool out of the final tally of homicides in Kansas City in
2005. I spoke this afternoon with Brooks, an ex-cop who is now an at-large City Council member and mayor pro-tem. Here's what he said about the pool:
Eight to 10 Leawood employees were suspended for one or two weeks in the case.
