Shame on the editors of the Kansas City Star for scaring citizens of Missouri with "the streets will run red with blood!" tirades!

We heard the same arguments in Arkansas 6 years ago before we passed our concealed carry law. And do you know what? A funny thing happened on the way to the OK Corral. Turns out you can (get this now, are you sitting down?) TRUST your fellow citizens! Whoa Nelly! Who'd a thunk it?

As has happened in every state that has passed SHALL ISSUE concealed carry laws, you will find that only the most law abiding and responsible citizens will take the time and effort to get a license.

You will also find that violent crime rates will drop (especially rape), but property crimes will increase slightly. Women will make up about 15 percent of your permit holders, and overall, 1-3 percent of your citizens will get permits.

I hope your citizens soon enjoy the same legal means of self-defense as the citizens of Arkansas and 33 other states.
