Second Amendment: Law and history
- A
Right of the People
- Superb article explaining the Second Amendment and how it
guarantees a right to every individual citizen. The author, a
professor at UCLA Law School, presented the material as testimony to
a Congressional subcommittee in 1998. As he states in the article,
when he began his research he was not particularly
"pro-gun," and he did not believe the Second Amendment
guaranteed a right to individual citizens. The article is easy to
follow and makes a good starting point for anyone interested in the
Second Amendment. This link appears here with the author's generous
permission.
